Leg two complete. We are tucked into our hotel in the centre of Sofia exhausted after a 20 hour door to door travel day. The Munich Airport ran smoothly and we were waiting at our gate more than two hours early. Maybe MEX should take a lesson from civil airports, connecting passengers shouldn't have to clear customs.

Once we were finally on board for our last flight, it was taking a while for them to close the doors. First 20 minutes, then 40. After several more minutes, the pilot came on an announced a delay due to thunderstorms at the destination. He told us it would be too dangerous to land at Sofia under these conditions and that we'd be parked for an additional hour! Anticipating a long wait a few moms on board stood up with their babies, but barely a minute later the pilot comes on and says, the weather has cleared up and it was time to leave immediately! I wasn't sure at this point if I was dreaming, or acually hearing this, but within a few minutes we took off. No sign of rain when we landed in Sofia, but we were through immigration in ten minutes then took the metro to find our hotel. The picture is the view from our room.
