Central Europe - Part 4

We've had unseasonably warm weather (25-27) for our central Europe leg, but today we woke up to rain and fog for our drive back to Vienna. As we left Krakow the elevation started to increase and by the time we crossed into Slovakia it was all mountains, and ski resorts. Despite the rain, the drive was pleasant through the Slovak mountain villages. By the time we reached the southern plain near Bratislava, the rain stopped. We only stopped once for a quick picture of a historic hockey arena that has seen better days. Unfortunately, it was all locked up and we couldn't go inside. Any idea what event happened here?
